Equality Statement

At South Parade Primary School, we believe that diversity is a strength which should be respected and celebrated by all members of the school community. We are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all children. Our aim is to provide the highest possible standards of education and enable all children to achieve their full potential. We aim to treat all people fairly and strive to eliminate discrimination wherever it might exist.

Discrimination against any of the protected characteristics is unacceptable at South Parade. Protected groups, as detailed in the Equality Act (2010), includes race, disability, gender, gender re-assignment, age, pregnancy and maternity, marital status, religion and belief and sexual orientation. All staff, governors and pupils understand the importance of having respect for every individual.  Our primary focus is to educate, develop and prepare all our pupils for life in a diverse society.

In all of our practice, we adhere to the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) through which we are unwavering in our approach to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between our different stakeholders.
