Class 14 update 01.10.21
Fortunately we have had no new positive cases in C14 for a number of days now. We would like to thank you for your support in identifying positive cases by taking PCR tests and helping us to prevent further spread.
We ask that all children return to Class 14 from Monday 4th October.
Thanks again for your ongoing support.
Covid-19 Class 14 latest update
Thank you for taking your child for a PCR test following the advice last week. This helped us to identify further cases of children who were asymptomatic. If you have not taken your child yet please can we ask that you do so that every possible measure is taken to prevent further spread.
This morning we have had further conversations with our local public health team regarding the rise in positive cases in class 14. We have collectively decided that for this class only (as there is a significant number of positive cases), that we will for this week give the option of remote home learning or to remain in school.
If you decide to keep your child off school to conduct home learning for the remainder of this week, this will be authorised.
These are exceptional circumstances due to the high number of cases in this particular class. The year 6 classes are currently operating as separate bubbles which has managed to contain the spread.
We will continue to keep you updated and thank you once again for your support.
We are writing to inform you that we have had a rise in cases of Covid-19 in year 6.
We now have 6 confirmed cases (and one positive LFT awaiting confirmation).
Whilst we don't want to alarm you, we always like to be transparent and keep you informed and up to date.
We have taken advice from our local public health team who are currently in conversations with us. Their advice so far is:
We will continue to follow public health advice and will keep you up to date.
We are doing everything we possibly can to minimise any disruption to the children's education, however your child and family's health is paramount.
Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome everyone to class 14 and Year 6.
I am really enthusiastic about the new year ahead and meeting and getting to know all of you. We are bound to have a great year and making sure we have a fantastic last year of primary school before heading off to secondary school.
Year 6 is a wonderful challenge and I know that if we put in plenty of effort and try our best we will have a great year. As well as the work, year 6 is packed with opportunities for all of you to get your teeth into and will be lots of fun.
I hope you are excited and ready to have a brilliant time in year six and I'm looking forward to getting started.
If there is ever an occasion where we need to move to remote learning, Class Dojo will be used to communicate with parents and pupils and this system will also be used for other communication with parents. It will be up and running shortly. However, there is also the starred section below with work in different subject areas from the year 6 curriculum.
Some useful information.
Current start time is 8.50am
Current finish time is 3.20pm
P.E. is on a Thursday afternoon so can children come to school on that day wearing their P.E. kits. (We will try to do outdoor P.E. whenever possible and will not be using cloakrooms to get changed.) Please can children come to school on Thursdays wearing P.E. kits - dark coloured shorts and a white t-shirt with suitable footwear - trainers or pumps. When we are outdoors, children can also wear tracksuit bottoms / joggers / leggings that are dark coloured, and wear their school jumper or cardigan. Children can bring a different long sleeved top for warmth whilst doing the P.E. lesson outside if they want to.
We are able to go swimming this year and this will take place on Fridays. Please can children bring a swimming costume which should be dark coloured. Can girls wear a one piece swimming costume, (no bikinis) and can boys wear trunks or longer shorts that are tight fitting, (no baggy/bermuda shorts) please. Children will also be required to wear a swimming hat (boys and girls) and bring a towel. Children can bring goggles if they wish, but these are optional. (If children choose to come to school on Friday wearing their costumes under their uniform, please ensure underwear is packed for when children exit the pool and return to school.)
If you have any questions or if I have missed anything that you want to know about, please feel free to contact me through the school office phone number.
