Important Information

I am so excited to have your children move to my class from Miss Kilburn's class. We will be starting the year using the structure of an Early Years classroom where children will be participating in play-based learning until they are ready to be introduced to more formal learning. We will be doing lots of transition activities to settle into our new class and the children will be adopting their own reading pet (a TY beanie baby animal that becomes their own property).

We will be taking all precautions to make our class as COVID safe as possible in line with government guidance. Children will be having their own packs of certain frequently used equipment such as pencils, scissors and glue-sticks. Other items that are shared within our bubble will be frequently cleaned. Lots of hand-washing will take place and children will be eating and playing in their own bubbles. We will be doing all this in a way that is reassuring and as normal as possible for your children.

On PE days, children will be asked to come to school wearing their PE kit. I will let you know what day this is once the time-table is released. I will also advise you of arrangements for home-reading books.

Starting/finishing times are also being staggered to reduce contact between families. We will be starting at 9am and finishing at 3.15pm. Our playtimes and lunchtimes are also staggered through the day to allow each bubble to have their own space outside.

I look forward to welcoming your child into Class 4 on Tuesday 8th September.

Copies of newsletters and homework will be added to this page.

I will also be adding photographs of children's work and special activities.

Links to interesting websites will also be added.

Links to useful phonics and maths websites are on the phonics and maths tabs on the main school pages.
