Healthy Week - we really enjoyed learning about how to be healthy! We tasted new, healthy foods; learnt about why exercise is important; we learnt about why we need to sleep; practised mindfullness for good mental health; and we took part in a range of fun P.E. sessions.

EOCT Big Build Lesson 4: Structures. We had to build strong structures out of spaghetti and marshmallows using all the knowledge we have gained from the previous sessions. We had to plan, build and evaluate to make sure ours were strong enough to support a tin of sardines... this was trickier than many of us expected!

Geography - we love using atlases to find out about the world!

EOCT Big Build Lesson 3 - Planning. Rob taught Year 3 all about how important planning is in many areas of our lives. We then worked in groups to plan our own new town for if we landed on a new planet!

Trampolining - Some of our children were very lucky and had the opportunity to go trampolining at Ossett Academy. We had a great time!

Journey sticks: We went outside and used our senses to spot the signs of Spring. In the style of Australian aboriginals and using our Mindfulness techniques, we tied different materials of different colours to our sticks to represent the different things we saw, smelt, felt or heard.

Solving the perimeter mystery! We used a range of measuring equipment to work out the perimeter of a range of shapes. We had to find the shape with a perimeter of 119cm.

Outdoor maths lesson: we went outside to use a range of equipment to measure accurately in mm, cm and m.

World Book Day March 2019 - we had a fabulous day celebrating our love for reading! We recommended our favourite books to each other and read lots of bed time stories in our pyjamas!

D&T: We had our first lesson of the EOCT Big Build with Luke (a civil engineer) and learnt all about Health and Safety. First we learnt about hazards and spotted them on a building site, then we learnt about PPE (personal protection equipment) that people wear to keep safe. We even got to try some on!

Primary Futures Aspirations Day: We loved learning all about being a hypnotherapist, an intervention coach, a school liaison officer for ISS, a fundraiser for a children’s hospice charity and a podiatrist! We had an amazing day and felt very inspired!

D.T.: We loved planning, making and evaluating traps for the Iron Man in the school garden!

Investigating magnets: We posed and tested our own theories about magnets. We found out that not all metals are attracted to magnets!

What's under our feet? We learnt about the layers of the Earth and then made our own models out of plasticine.

Molly brought in her tortoise Alfie. We talked about what he eats and how he is about to go into hibernation!

Our trip to Greenman Learning was amazing! We really enjoyed being outside in nature all day and we found out that being a person in the Stoneage must have been quite difficult!

Music - We have lots of fun in our music lessons with Mrs Ryder

Nature numberlines and estimating - We went outside for an exciting lesson about estimating on a numberline.

Class 8's Stone Age Camp - Can you work our what Stone Age jobs we're all doing to get our food?

Using our Growth Mindset and team work during the paper chain challenge!
