Our school will receive approximately £31,000 for the Covid Catch up funding. We are planning to spend this on extra tuition in Y6. The children in Y6 will have 3 teachers in a morning so that they will be split into smaller groups to enable more focussed teaching in English and Maths. The Y5 pupils have been identified as a year group who attained low scores in KS1 and therefore our focus year group for boosting attainment. Identified children in this year group children will have extra tuition in reading, writing and mathematics during 3 afternoons every week.
We have purchased a new online reading programme called Bug Club which can be accessed at home and in school. This will help to support children with their reading skills even if the school should close.
We have identified some of the Covid fund for Y2 and Y3 maths and literacy support.
A small amount of this year’s Covid fund will be put towards a sensory garden. This can be accessed by all pupils to support their mental health and well-being.
We have also set up our year one classrooms with some continuous provision (like EYFS), as these pupils missed a large chunk of EYFS provision.
We will assess all areas of funding to see if they are being effective.
