Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from Mad Science. A scientist called "Kinetic Katie" came in and did some experiments for us to watch. It was very exciting.
Mad Science are hoping to run an after-school science club and information will be sent out to parents this evening.
Indian Culture Celebration Evening
On Thursday 24th February at 6.00pm we held a fantastic celebration of Indian culture organised by our PTA, Friends of South Parade. Families came together to enjoy a curry, cooked by our super chef, Alison. The children throughout the whole school made decorations, place mats, menus, cultural information posters, garlands and much more. The evening was finished off by a spectacular Indian Dance, led by Miss Oldroyd, our in house dance expert! A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
School Council Visit to CAP Resource Centre
Mrs Fieldhouse, Mrs Harrison and Mrs Adamson took our Year 6 School Councillors to CAP resource centre to 'work' for a morning. They worked in groups to allocate clothing, serve food, wash up and talk to the service users (disadvantaged people in our local community). Kevin, the centre manager, was extremely grateful when we presented our cheque for £500. This is money that was donated from our parents/grandparents, that all of our children raised through our Christmas performances. It was such a humbling experience. The School Councillors will present an assembly to talk to the rest of the school about their day.
