Coronavirus testing programme for staff in school

Dear parents / carers,

As part of the government’s mass testing programme, they are now asking that staff in all Primary Schools nationally take part in twice weekly coronavirus testing, starting this week.  This will involve members of staff taking a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test twice per week with results available within half an hour. If that member of staff tests positive using the LFD test they would then book at PCR coronavirus test which would confirm if they have Covid-19.

The aim of this testing programme is to support in breaking the chain of transmission in asymptomatic cases, so that anyone who has coronavirus without symptoms can follow isolation guidance rather than spreading it unknowingly.

If a member of staff tests positive, the usual test and trace procedures will be followed in school where we will take advice from Public Health England and any close contacts will be identified and notified.

Thank you again for your ongoing patience and support.
