Coronavirus update 17th March

Coronavirus update

Firstly can we thank you for being so supportive during this period of uncertainty. Working together is something we feel very proud of within our community.

In line with strict government guidance from the Prime Minister which was released yesterday (and could change daily) please do not send your child into school if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • A new, continuous cough
  • A temperature above 37.8 degrees

OR

  • Living in a household where someone else in displaying symptoms

The latest guidance is that the whole household must stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days.

As a school we are continuing to reinforce the importance of hygiene with pupils and staff and in addition we have taken the following actions:

  • All after school clubs will be cancelled as of tomorrow (however we will continue with Early Birds at present. This may change at any point)
  • Swimming will be cancelled until further notice
  • We have stopped all non-essential visitors into school (including parents). If you urgently need to speak to a member of staff, please consider a phone call instead, or if this is unsuitable, please report to the main reception and not through classroom doors
  • Any child who presents with either of the above symptoms will be placed in a designated room until a parent/carer can collect

It is absolutely vital that we have the most up to date contact numbers for our parents/carers. Please get in touch immediately if you need to update these on our system. Can we also ask that you keep your phone near by in case we need to contact you.

Whilst we appreciate that this is a period of worry and unknowns for many it is important that as community we keep each other safe and support each other.
