End of year message to parents/carers

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are nearly there… at the end of what I can only describe as another crazy year! Covid has really tried hard to break our collective spirit and at times it has tested us but it really hasn’t broken anything at South Parade. In fact it has brought us closer in many ways. We have all pulled together even more creating opportunities and delivered learning in new ways that as teachers we never thought we’d do. Throughout this year we have all developed new skills such as: learning remotely; the new joys of ever testing technology; games/PE and music which has been delivered different from ever before and even for us leaders: how to plan and reopen a school for selected pupils in 24 hours!

You at home have also been amazing. You have helped your children work through our lesson ideas and plans, contributing more than ever to your child’s education.  Thank you. We are also grateful for how you have made our teachers and support staff feel appreciated and valued throughout this uncertain year.

Our Governors have also helped support all of our staff and helped to keep morale high throughout the year whilst ensuring standards across each year group remain high.

Finally, a great big thank you to our truly amazing pupils. They have been fantastic, resilient, accepting of difficult circumstances and they have really looked after each other when the going has become a little tough.

We look forward to our final day of the year where we can say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils and enjoy seeing the children before our summer break.

Let’s all cross our fingers and hope for a less complicated year where children can be disappointment free for a bit, learn in a school environment and truly enjoy being around each other.

Enjoy your summer and stay safe,

Mrs Peace and All Staff at South Parade
