Dear Parents and Carers,
I’m sure you will all know that schools will be open for all children again from Monday 8th March. We really can’t wait to see our children and families once again!
It is important that you know that there will still be many government rules and safety procedures for us to follow, as there have been very few changes since before Christmas.
So how will things work back in school under the current guidelines?
Just like before Christmas, each class will be a ‘self-contained bubble’. These bubbles will not be allowed to mix indoors or outdoors at any point during the course of the school day.
Following government guidelines, the start and end of the school day will be staggered so that the risk of large numbers of people mixing is minimised. Playtimes and lunch times will also be staggered to minimise the risk of Covid-19 spreading. Lunch will be eaten in classes with the exception of reception and Year 1. A full menu will be offered as it was before Christmas.
The start and end of the school day will be as follows:
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE SOME SLIGHT CHANGES
Nursery: 8.50-11.50 & 12.30-3.30 - bottom gate
Reception: 8.50 - 3.10 - bottom gate
Year 1 + 2: 8.55 - 3.15 - top or back gate
Year 3 + 4: 9.00 - 3.20 - any gate, year 3 go to classrooms, year 4 on playground
Year 5 + 6: 8.45 - 3.05- any gate
Please ensure you adhere to social distancing and please wear a face covering unless you are exempt. Please can parents/carers not gather on school grounds or around school entry points.
Can we please ask that only one adult enters school grounds to drop off and collect and if the children are able to enter school grounds without an adult then this would also be encouraged. There are staff on the playground and at school gates.
Children should wear their school uniform. They can bring a water bottle, packed lunch (if needed) and bag but nothing else please. Children can wear PE kit for PE days. Please can we ask that children do not bring in pencil cases or other items from home. Peripatetic music lessons will start again from the 8Th March. After school sports clubs will start again after Easter. These will be in class bubbles.
YOU MUST INFORM SCHOOL IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE AS THIS IMPACTS ON THE SAFE ARRIVAL FOR OTHER YEAR GROUPS.
As before Christmas, we will continue to provide a full and broad curriculum. We will ensure the children have time to re-engage with their peers and time to discuss any issues the children have. We have Mrs Banks (Learning Mentor) and Mrs Fowles (Mental Health Lead) available for you to discuss any worries or concerns.
We will assess where the children are academically following their time spent at home, and plan for them linked to their next steps– supporting with any gaps in learning if necessary. The government has promised that all schools will continue to receive ‘catch-up’ funding which will be used to provide support for children at the school’s discretion. We will also do our very best to meet any additional wellbeing needs of our children that have developed as a result of the pandemic and subsequent lockdown period.
Once again, thank you very much for all you have done to support your children at home with their learning!
All the very best and thank you for your ongoing support.
