It is with great sadness that we are having to close our school at the end of the day on Friday in light of the recent Covid-19 outbreak. This is a decision that really is beyond our control as the government guidelines have said that we must do this to ensure the well-being and safety of all our pupils, families and the wider community, which of course is our main priority.
Whilst our school is closed we hope that you make the most of this unique time with your children and families. Enjoy lots of cuddles, stories, fun and togetherness.
Of course, as a school we still have a duty to provide educational activities for our children. We will be providing our children with daily tasks and activities to complete. Please make sure that you sign up to Class Dojo as tasks will be set through this for pupils in class 3 and above. Nursery and Class 1 and 2 will be given tasks through the Learning Books. Please look at these tasks and build them into your day. Lots of teachers have provided a timetable to help if you would like to use this also and some paper- based packs too.
At the moment there are many uncertainties around how long this will be for. We will keep you updated around changes and developments through our school website, Twitter, our Facebook page and texts.
We have been advised that we should open for pupils of key workers and those who have an EHCP or a social worker involved.
Although we are still waiting for guidance from the government on who specifically the key workers are, we are going to be contacting you at some point today to ask about your employment so we can start to compile a list.
Please bear with us. We appreciate that you will have many questions but due to the sheer volume of phone calls we ask that you treat this as us doing a fact finding exercise.
Whilst this is a time of unknowns and some disruption please rest assured that we are all still making you, our families our top priority. We will ‘ride’ this out and be back up and running as soon as we are allowed to do so.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Take care of each other.
