Here are the statutory word-lists for years 3 and 4 and years 5 and 6. The lists are a mixture of words children frequently use in their writing and those which they often misspell. For children to achieve the Year 6 age-related expectation, they must be able to spell these words in their writing.
In addition to the statutory word-lists, the government have also produced a list of statutory spelling patterns that should be taught. On a Monday, the children will receive a list of spellings to learn. These will be added to the website each week.
