When we are writing dialogue, we need to make sure it has a purpose. Last week, we looked at using dialogue to describe a character. This week, we are going to look at how dialogue can tell the reader what is happening - it is advancing the action.
Look at the dialogue sheets below. One gives you examples of how to advance the action and the other has some pictures to help you write your own dialogue. Think - what will my dialogue add to the story? By reading it, will the reader have a clearer idea of what is happening in the story?
