Year Group Written Calculations
At South Parade Primary School, we follow our whole school Calculation Policy to ensure consistency in teaching children written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Each year group builds upon what has previously been taught. All children are taught how to answer calculations quickly and fluently. They are also taught how to solve problems using calculations. This starts with one-step problems and moves on to multi-step problems. The document below shows you the method expected by the end of each year group. We hope this is helpful as you support your child at home with their learning.
