Elfridges

Everyone loves a Christmas jumper! For children, we realise that they get worn a few times then they grow out of them! Hence - our Elfridges shop.

On our last day of term term we will be inviting children to come to school in Christmas jumpers or dresses.

See details on our poster below.

Thank you,

Team SP Xtra.

SP XTRA

Dear parents / carers,

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce SP XTRA to you.

We are two parents with children in year 4, who felt our children had missed out on many extra-curricular activities due to the Covid pandemic and lockdown. We approached the school to volunteer to bring some of the previous activities back to life from the pre-Covid days.

We want to work with staff from school to give all our children fun, exciting and memorable times. We are well aware of the increasing demands on teachers and budgets and realise that the extra-curricular activities such as discos can’t go ahead without the support of parents.

Alongside providing the fun experiences for the children, we would like to take the opportunity to raise some money for the school. This money will go into the school fund that is spent directly on our children providing memorable experiences such as the photo booth for the King’s Coronation.

We have been working closely with the Community and Events Co-ordinator, Mrs Harrison and Mrs Basir from the admin team, who have been helping to prepare a lot of the ground work for these projects.

We recently met in school as a team to plan some exciting events. Over the coming 12 months, we have some great ideas in the pipeline, events that will include the children as well as some parents only events. Our aim is to build on the community feel to the school where parents and children can all be involved.

We started small with the name the Valentines bear, which raised £370 for the school fund. A terrific amount of money for such a small ideaThe next idea was to guess where the Easter bunny had buried some eggs on school grounds, by selecting a square on the map.  This raised £411 for school fund…which was amazing!! Our next event is the forthcoming school disco - thank you for your support with this.

SP XTRA will only be a success with the support of other parents, whether that be someone who wants to be involved in the planning or parents who can assist with the running of an event. If you would like to be involved or have any fundraising ideas, please let the school office know.

We will keep you updated with all the upcoming events for the next school year so you can get them in your diary!

Thanks,

Lindsay & Emma x
