Class 6 Photos 22/23

As part of our Geography unit, Magical Mapping, we conducted fieldwork in our local area. We investigated local human and physical features, then created a sketch map using our findings.

We loved World Book Day! We came to school dressed as our favourite book characters, did a book treasure hunt and enjoyed sharing books with our friends.

We had a visit from local author and poet, Conrad Burdekin. He shared some of his poems with us and worked with us to write our own class poem. We had lots of fun!

We had a school visit from Green Man Learning and we loved out Outdoor Learning! We learnt about the Great Fire of London, Fire Safety and enjoyed toasting marshmallows by the camp fire!

To compliment our learning about the Great Fire of London, we have had the Fire Service in to visit our class. They spoke to us about the Great Fire of London and their job in present day. They showed us around the Fire Engine too - we were very excited and keen to learn all about their job.

As part of our science topic of Materials, we went on a walk around school to investigate the use of materials within our school building.

Class 6 have created some brilliant homework projects to compliment their Geography unit, 'What a Wonderful World'. They chose a continent to find information about, created a project of their choice and presented it to the class. They did a brilliant job!

As part of Science, we went to the woodland area of our school to study it as a habitat, looking for animals and plants living there.

We learnt the names of the continents and the oceans and located them on maps that we made.

We practiced to ensure correct number formation of one and two digit numbers using chalk outside.

As part of our science lesson, we went to our outdoor area and found things that were living, dead or had never been alive.
