Mathematics

In Mathematics, we ensure children have a strong sense of number.  Children develop a deep understanding of numbers to 10 and the relationships between them and the patterns within those numbers.  Children have the opportunity to develop their spatial reasoning skills and their understanding of shape, space and measure.

The children independently made the staircase pattern after our Maths lesson.

We explored pattern making and recognising patterns in our Maths focus.

We did some sorting of objects into groups based on their colour in the maths provision area.

Subitising two and three objects in the maths provision.

Reception looked at how much capacity each container would hold. Then put them in order from smallest to greatest.
