Covid updates
As you are aware, there is an increase in Covid cases in the Wakefield district. Current cases (as of Friday 25th June) are 118 per 100,000 and are rising.
We are doing everything we can within school to keep our children, staff and local community as safe as possible to try and avoid any further bubble closures.
We now know that the symptoms of the Delta variant appear to differ from previous Covid variants. The new symptoms are:
- headache
- sore throat
- runny nose
Unfortunately the symptoms can be similar to those of hay fever which makes identifying possible cases a challenge.
Please can we ask that you support us in preventing the spread of this variant within school. If your child is feeling unwell with any of the above symptoms, or the usual symptoms (persistent cough, high temperature or loss of smell /taste) please can you take them for a PCR test.
